I just started a new class at Walden University called Understanding the Impact of Technology on Education, Work, and Society. I am excited to discuss with other professionals around the countries what technology they use and what they found has worked and has not worked. I am looking forward to sharing some of my ideas and am eager to hear the ideas of others.
Using blogs is a great way to communicate with students and make announcements that the whole class can see. I think using blogs is a great way to keep students who miss school up to date on what they missed in class.
ReplyDeleteI think that blogs are also a great way to get input form students and share ideas as a class.
The website that refers to teaching children in the 21st century is very interesting. The site is http://www.p21.org/route21/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=150&Itemid=238. I was partically interested and impressed that New Jersey placed their plan on the site. I am a teacher in New Jersey and am very eager to get new ideas and share thoughts about teaching in the ever changing world. The 21st century readiness overview for New Jersey has a printer friendly version. It nicely outlines the goals, missions and objectives of the state in order to stay up to date with our students.
ReplyDeleteTaking this class has openned my eyes to a lot of new tools that I can use to organize my class in the world of technology. I especially have liked the blogs and wikis. Two things that I would like to see me doing in the next two years is using a smart board efficiently. In order for this to happen, I first need one. However, we have been promised them by the end of this year. I would also like to utilize more project based learning. This will transform my classroom into a more student centered environment where I simply act as facilitator instead of a lecturer
